2024

The Saudi Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), established in 2017, leads the preservation and sustainable development of Saudi Arabia’s AlUla region, home to UNESCO World Heritage sites like Hegra. RCU blends heritage conservation, tourism, and community engagement, partnering globally to protect cultural and natural treasures. Its vision aligns with the SETI Institute in Mountain View, which explores humanity’s place in the universe through science and discovery. Both institutions value cross-disciplinary research, education, and international collaboration—whether safeguarding Earth’s ancient wonders or searching for life beyond our planet—uniting heritage and science in a shared quest to expand human understanding across time and space.
